What you need to know
At Desert Dunes Animal Hospital, we provide microchipping for your canine or feline companion, young or old.
With many pets going missing every day we want to ensure they are returned safely back to their owners. No sedation is required to put in a microchip, however we do offer them in addition with any spay or neuter packages.
A microchip is placed under the skin, in between the shoulder blades using a hypodermic needle. The microchip itself is the size of a grain of rice. It is made of an anti-migration feature that keeps it in place to last the lifetime of your pet. The microchip is encoded with a 15-digit number that is unique to your pet.
The Home Again microchip can be scanned at a local veterinarian hospital or a shelter if a pet were to be brought to them. We will register your pet at the time of purchase. Please visit www.homeagain.com to ensure all data is correct or if any information needs changing. “Home Again has reunited over 2 million pets.”
